Who are we?

We are a local group of like minded people who take in encouraging local talent. The aim of the organization is to provide an opportunity for everyone who wishes the chance to participate in any role in a production, both on and off stage.

We currently produce a traditional family pantomime every Christmas, our current cast consists of people from age 8 and upwards (a long way up) and often our cast members are nominated for theatre awards.

The current committee is:-

General Committee:

Mike Derbridge, Melanie Isaac, Helen Leigh, Martin Lukins, Valerie Lukins,
Lousie Mathias-Lukins, Hollie-May Passmore, Sara Plant, Tony Wall, Kay Wych

Associate Member - Rowena Collins, John Turner

Can I take part?

YES, currently it only costs your time and commitment to the production as all our funding comes sole from ticket sales, advertising and sponsers. If you or anyone you know would like to advertise, sponser or become a friend of Moorlight please contact us by email info@moorlighttheatreproductions.co.uk.

We do our best to include all interested parties in our shows.

Performing We do not have a membership, each show is advertised in local papers and is open to anyone who wishes to audition. These roles will be dependent on the show but not all have to be able to dance or sing, it does help if you can remember your words though.
Back stage We always welcome those who do not wish to take to the boards but would like to be part of the team. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm, we were all novices at the start and we willingly pass on our expertise. This includes make up, costumes, lighting, sound and scenery moving both small and large.
Front of house Every audience has to be cared for and we have a team that do just that Showing people to their seats, selling programmes, sometimes selling merchandise. If you enjoy meeting people and are prepared to watch the show at least twice, it's free!
Musicians Every production needs musicians although the skills required vary considerably for each production. Again we have a wide range of ages here and all are welcome although obviously we would need to know the level you have achieved and any experience you have. However experience of playing for a show is not necessary.
